Over 200 people walked, waddled or ran in the annual March for the Penguins held at the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary (APSS) in Gansbaai. The 5km fun walk arranged by the Dyer Island Conservation Trust has become a highlight on the calendar for locals and visitors to Gansbaai.
The event creates awareness about the endangered status of the African penguin and raises funds for the rehabilitation efforts of the APSS. Adults, children, dogs, friends and families enjoyed the fun event.
The sanctuary depends heavily on donations to help save our feathered friends. All support in terms of visits, donations and time is invaluable to the successful operation of the APSS and the conservation of the African penguin.
The successful event was made possible by the generous support of donors, committed volunteers and hardworking staff. A great BIG penguin thank you to everybody. To see how much fun was had by all, please click the pics
